Recently, China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) Gezhouba Group officially signed the EPC general contract for the Poigar 2 Hydropower Plant with PT MINAHASA BRANTAS ENERGI in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia. The finalization of this key milestone marks the project's full entry into the implementation phase and adds a significant achievement to Chinese enterprises’ deep engagement in Southeast Asia’s clean energy market.
As a key energy infrastructure project on Sulawesi Island, the commencement of this project will effectively alleviate regional power shortages and serve as another landmark project for high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.
The Poigar 2 Hydropower Plant is located in South Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi Province, Indonesia, and is one of the priority clean energy projects on Sulawesi Island. The project plans to install two hydroelectric generating units, along with the simultaneous construction of a headrace tunnel, above‑ground powerhouse, access roads, and power transmission and transformation works. The scope covers the entire process of design, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning.
