New breakthough! China SEBW Wins Bid for Automotive Acoustic Wind Tunnel Mobile Measurement System

Recently, Shanghai Electric Blower Works Co., Ltd. (SEBW) achieved another major strategic breakthrough in the high-end equipment sector by winning the bid for the mobile measurement system, a core equipment package of an advanced domestic automotive aeroacoustic wind tunnel project. This marks the first time that SEBW has extended its wind tunnel development from power systems to other core systems, signifying that the automotive wind tunnel core measurement system — long monopolized by a handful of foreign companies from the United Kingdom, Denmark, and the United States — has officially entered the era of domestic production. This effectively resolves the “bottleneck” predicament of critical automotive R&D infrastructure in China and provides solid support for the independent innovation and development of the national automotive industry.

The mobile measurement system serves as the “neural center” and “positioning brain” of an automotive aeroacoustic wind tunnel, serving as the core supporting equipment for high-precision aerodynamic and acoustic testing. Prior to this, no engineering application breakthrough had been achieved domestically. Faced with foreign technological blockades and potential supply chain risks, SEBW proactively assumed the role of industry chain leader and, in collaboration with the Institute of Advanced Propulsion (IAP) at Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU), undertook original technological research. Through deep industry-university-research synergy, the company successfully overcame the key technologies that had long constrained the localization process, achieving a historic leap from “complete reliance on imports” to “independent and controllable” production. After extensive simulation and field test validation, SEBW earned high recognition from the client with its robust and reliable measured data and system stability exceeding expectations, fully demonstrating that the domestically produced mobile measurement system already possesses the technical capability to fully replace imported products.

This contract award is a milestone achievement for SEBW in its deep commitment to high-end equipment intelligent manufacturing and in serving major national strategic initiatives.
