Pacamor Kubar Receives FAA TSO-C149 for Aircraft Bearings Pacamor Kubar Bearings (Troy, New York) announced it has achieved certification and authorization by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to Technical Standard Order TSO-C149. The Certification covers PKB's miniature and instrument ball bearing product line, and required more than a year of, "intensive development, engineering, and certification activities." Not long ago, Pacamor achieved joint ISO 9001:2000 and SAE EN/JISQ/AS9100:2004 Aerospace Certification. The company already held ISO9001:2000. C149 was proposed in 1991 and instituted in April 1998. It establishes quality and performance standards for aircraft bearings. It also specifies labeling and tracking information such as lubricant, seal construction, inspection details, and lot number. Edward Osta, Executive VP, said: "Achieving FAA certification is a tremendous accomplishment for our company. We are extremely proud that we have successfully achieved both AS9100:2004 and TSO C-149 certification in such a short period of time. This accomplishment clearly demonstrates the commitment to quality by our entire organization in providing consistent high quality products to all our customers." Pacamor Kubar Bearings is a U.S. manufacturer of precision miniature and instrument ball bearings, for the aerospace, defense, medical, dental and industrial markets.
