SPZ is Optimizing Roller Production

SPZ JSC’s rollers production workshop has completed installation of the 4th grinding line for rollers of heavy series. Prior to the optimization, the fourth line was “blocked” between the first, second and third lines for grinding railway bearings rollers. Due to the lack of space, it was impossible to line the available equipment and add six more machine-tools required by the technological process; this had a negative impact on labor productivity and quality of rollers. After purchasing superfinishing grinding machine-tools and making use of available space, the 4th automatic grinding line for rollers of heavy series combined preliminary and superfinishing grinding work, monitoring external and internal surface defects and manual component parts sorting. Due to the optimization the labor productivity on the line will treble and will make it possible to eliminate mechanical damage to rollers during intermediate loading and unloading operations, as well as to ensure the 6th tolerance grade of the products being manufactured on the line.
