Igus to Exhibit at National Manufacturing Week 2008

igus® , a leading developer of cable management systems, high-performance polymer bearings and linear guides, will be exhibiting at booth #4011 at the Design Engineering show during National Manufacturing Week this year.
Among the products the company will be highlighting are its cost-effective PRT slewing ring bearings, which use two self-lubricating, low friction polymer sliding elements in place of ball bearings. The slewing ring modules are highly wear resistant, easy to install, and completely maintenance free.
Also in the spotlight will be igus’ new maintenance-free linear unit for format adjustments. DryLin® EasyTube is a completely lubrication-free, compact and lightweight system, consisting of just six individual parts: a leadscrew, tube, two clamping rings, an attachment flange and slide block. The tube guides the slide block and is available either in anodized aluminum or stainless steel. The trapezoidal leadscrew and nut are integrated into the tube so they are protected against external influences. The entire EasyTube system is kept as small as possible with this space-saving design. Potential applications for this product include those in the food manufacturing and packaging industries.
Also new from igus are Chainflex® cables specifically designed for USB applications. Chainflex USB is ideal for industrial environments requiring a USB 2.0 connection and provides fast, reliable data transmissions up to 16.4 feet. Also unveiled by igus this year were FireWire cables for longer distance machine vision applications. FireWire cables are tested to more than six million flex cycles and can be delivered pre-harnessed in standard and custom lengths.
Samples of the company’s cable carriers—designed to guide and protect moving cables—and self-lubricating plastic plain, self-aligning and linear bearings will also be displayed at the show. Visit igus at the Design Engineering Show in Rosemont, Ill. from September 23rd through 25th.
