BNL Joins British Gear Association

BNL (UK) Limited has become a full member of the British Gear Association as part of a strategy to improve and expand on existing capabilities. The development work will initially focus on their current polymer gear technology and products.
The recently formed New Technology Centre at BNL is spearheading the development of this and other key product areas BNL has identified as complementary to their existing product lines. Kevin Smith, New Technology Manager and BNL’s specialist in polymer gear technology, is heading up the programme.
“The support of the BGA in our development of polymer gearing is gratefully received,” stated Kevin. “The New Technology Centre is currently working on expanding BNL’s capabilities to allow us to provide more added-value solutions per product, reducing component count and related part, assembly and maintenance costs for our customers.”
BNL’s custom plastic bearing assemblies utilise the freedom of design available through thermoplastic injection moulding techniques, integrating features such as clips, brackets and of course, gears, into plastic bearing products. BNL is well known it’s for plastic bearing designs and products, but ongoing development of other, complementary technologies, such as polymer gears, is less publicised.
