SKF Dryer Removes Contaminants from Air and Water

SKF has developed a three-in-one dryer system that removes oil, contaminants and water from compressed air. The Separator Filter Dryer system can treat a compressed air stream directly from the tank or, alternatively, be mounted on small air compressors or at the point of use. It is able to accommodate a range of air system requirements and flow rates, and is capable of providing uninterrupted operation - even in dirty or dusty conditions. The unit can withstand high or low ambient temperatures, making it suitable for use in a range of industrial applications, including concrete plants, warehouse operations, automotive paint booths and other manufacturing facilities. The SFD is simple to install, simply plugging into a standard 12, 24 or 120V AC, while a fully pneumatic version that requires no electricity is also available. No condensate drain line is needed with either model and there is no heat exchanger to clean or maintain. The compact design of the system allows it to be discretely installed directly on the tank, the compressor top plate, or on the wall. The standard SFD unit removes water from compressed air streams of pressures up to 180psi. An optional internal filtration/oil separator system also removes oil and filters out contaminants as small as 0.1um. The SFD unit can be specified with or without the internal filtration option for 5, 7.5, 10, 15 or 20 horsepower applications. The system typically averages five to six per cent of air for regeneration and, as it does not require a refrigerant, the environmental impact of applications can be further reduced.
