(December 14, 2010) Mike Bustamante, a Boca Bearings sponsored RC driver, competed in the Toys for Tots event past weekend. The 6th Annual Toys For Tots competition took place in Palm Desert, CA. Many fast and renown drivers were participating in the event. In Pro Truggy our driver was battling in the qualifier back and forth with the world finalist Adam Drake. They were .5sec. apart coming down the last lap of the race. In the second qualifier of pro buggy Mike’s buggy had gotten even better. The track appeared much slower and Mike thought that he could not beat his time; however he ended up 2 seconds faster. This run’s result bumped him up to start in the 3rd position in the main race. Eventually Bustamante’s run gave him the TQ spot for the second round of qualifying. In the finals Mike battled against Dylan Rodriguez for the second spot. For a few final minutes the battle for silver heated up with Mike eventually taking the second spot and winning the battle. In the Buggy competition Mike finished up 6th. Overall this was a successful weekend for Mike and his pit man, Dad Bustamante.
