Successful test of new ZKL bearings(Pic)
In middle of January 2011 the testing of capacity of bearings series PLC 810-13 (CTBU 130x230), which are designed for modern railway axles, was successfully finished. The test of capacity of axle bearings in the duration corresponding to 600 thousands kilometres, under the conditions nearing operational load, is set by the European standard EN 12082 and gives reliable information about the parameters and quality of the tested product. The test was carried out in the test room of the Railway Research Institute which is located in the test centre of VÚŽ in Cerhenice. Successful fulfilment of this test completes one stage of the development of new ZKL bearings, within which further endurance test are still under the testing and in the operation at the electric unit City Elephant of Czech Railways No. 471012 - see news from 11/2010. The results of these tests are an important argument for subsequent extension of maintenance cycles of new ZKL bearings for the operation over million kilometres.
