FTL Seals Develops Moldflon Dry Friction Bearing

(March 3, 2011) FTL Seals Technology has developed a dry friction bearing made of Moldflon (thermoplastic processable PTFE) for use in specialised machine designs with critical operating parameters. The PTFE Moldflon bearing is said to improve characteristics that are critical to friction bearings - for example, compressive strength and wear resistance. Features of the PTFE Moldflon dry friction bearing include: good chemical resistance; wide temperature range of -100C to +250C; suitable for high circumferential speeds under dry running conditions; suitable for high PV values under dry running conditions; FDA-compliant materials for life-science applications.
