Brammer's Great Cycle Challenge for Make a Wish
The challenge began at Brammer Fort William and culminated nine days later at Brammer Carlisle. Ricky and the team were supported by local Brammer staff at various points of the journey.
Ricky explained: “This was a demanding challenge that saw us travel hundreds of miles across very tricky terrain. None of the team are professional cyclists and we did this to raise as much as we could for Make-A-Wish, the charity that grants magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening illnesses, which is a truly deserving cause.
“We cycled to all of the Brammer branches in Scotland, from Inverness to Aberdeen and Dundee to Glasgow - we even hopped on a ferry to the Belfast branch! We raised a fantastic £5,000, which is testament to all the hard work and support of our team across the region. I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated and a special thank you goes to David and Kenny – I couldn’t have done this challenge without them!”
There are currently 20,000 children and young people in the UK fighting a life-threatening illness and this year alone around 1,000 children will be referred to Make-A-Wish to have their wish granted. To grant all these, Make-A-Wish relies upon the efforts of corporate partners like Brammer UK and their dedicated employees. Brammer has raised more than £115,000 for the charity since 2007.
