Dana Holding Corporation Receives Entrepreneur Award in Brazil

MAUMEE, Ohio – December 16, 2011 – Dana Holding Corporation (NYSE: DAN) has been recognized with the 2011 AutoData Entrepreneur Award for its innovative approach to the Brazilian automotive market this year, which included the company’s largest ever investment in the region.
Dana’s $150 million transaction with SIFCO S.A. early this year positioned it as the leading supplier of full drivelines in the growing South American commercial vehicle business.
“Tying our strategy and culture to innovation continues to generate positive results for our customers and shareholders,” said Dana President and Chief Executive Officer Roger J. Wood. “Answering customers’ strong demand for complete drivelines in South America required an innovative business solution, and I’m pleased to say that the Dana team there delivered.
“We’re humbled by the recognition from AutoData. At the same time, we’re reminded of the ongoing need to tackle business and product opportunities with innovative thinking.”
This year, Dana’s growth strategy in emerging markets has also involved the following:
•Completion of its 50:50 joint venture, Dongfeng Dana Axle Co., Ltd. (DDAC), in China,
•Acquisition of additional truck axle assets in India, and
•Construction of new technical centers in China and India, both scheduled to open in 2012.
“Coupled with our aftermarket strategy and continued focus on product technology, we believe these investments and innovatons position Dana for growth and success in the years ahead,” added Wood.
In August, Dana also received the Best of the Automotive Industry award in the management and entrepreneurship categories from AutoData magazine.
