GGB Bearing Technology in Suzhou, China now ISO certified for environmental management

GGB Bearing Technology (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. has been assessed and certified to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14001:2004 standard for its environmental management system. Conferred by independent auditor, SGS United Kingdom Ltd. Systems & Services, certification covers the manufacture of plain bearings, and is valid until December 27, 2014, subject to satisfactory surveillance audits. “The ISO 14001 standard reflects growing concern for environmental protection around the world,” said GGB China General Manager Mathias Senghaas. “This certification demonstrates our corporate commitment to responsible environmental stewardship; GGB is a global company and we want to be a good global citizen.” The ISO standard specifies requirements for an environmental management system that take into account legal and other issues, as well as significant environmental aspects that can be controlled or influenced. However it does not dictate specific performance criteria. GGB Bearing Technology has also been recently certified to the Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series specification for health and safety management systems (OHSAS 18001).
