Design engineers and end users of automated handling and multi-axis positioning systems can now source a complete range of modular, multi-axis linear components and turnkey handling and positioning systems from a single UK source.
As well as a range of modular, multi-axis components and systems, Schaeffler UK is now offering a comprehensive range of technical support services to help customers save machine build times and costs. These services include planning, detailed design, engineering, purchasing, pre-assembly and final assembly of components, safety protection, control and programming, transportation and final assembly of machines, initial machine set up and servicing, as well as maintenance (including remote machine diagnostics).
For the latest automated, multi-axis handling and positioning systems, design engineers and end users both prefer to utilise modular machine components or to source ready-to-fit, complete solutions, preferably from a single source. With Schaeffler’s comprehensive portfolio of multi-axis positioning systems and support services, the customer is supplied with a fully functional, reliable solution manufactured from modular components that are perfectly matched to one another, saving machine build time and costs during project planning, design, procurement, assembly and initial operation and set up – backed up by Schaeffler’s global service network.
By combining perfectly matched driven linear units with the appropriate accessories, drive and control elements, Schaeffler is able to provide either standard or custom engineered multi-axis handling and positioning systems to suit the exact requirements of the customer. These systems are available in a wide range of machine performance classes, with stroke/travel distances up to 30m, traversing speeds up to 10m/s, moving loads of up to 500kg.
The Schaeffler range now includes shaft, track roller and monorail guidance systems; six-, four- and two-row ball guidance systems; linear recirculating ball bearing units; flat cage guidance systems; linear roller bearings; miniature guidance systems; linear tables; ball and planetary roller screws; mechatronics and direct drive technology including linear motors; toothed belt drives; and a range of linear accessories such as fasteners and connectors.
A range of different linear actuator options are also available, including telescopic and clamping actuators. These actuators enable systems to be perfectly matched with the application performance requirements of motors, gearboxes, sensors and controllers.
For applications with small to moderate stroke lengths and speeds and where increased accuracy is required, INA linear tables are recommended, of which various designs are available.
Schaeffler’s technical support engineers can offer advice on data for requirements analysis, design and project planning, so that almost any multi-axis handling or positioning task can be solved. These include assembly and handling machine applications, robot automation systems, packaging machinery, laboratory automation systems and electronics manufacturing.
