NSK Launches DIN Dimension Standard Stock Ball Screws

NSK Ltd. (NSK; Headquarters: Tokyo, Japan; President and CEO: Toshihiro Uchiyama) today announced that it has developed a standard stock ball screws that accord with DIN standards and will launch it to market in February 2016. NSK is targeting 200 million yen in global sales in 2018.
NSK will exhibit this product at EMO 2015, Machine Tool World Exposition, to be held in Milan, Italy from Monday, October 5 to Saturday, October 10, 2015.
Nowadays, ball screws are indispensable for industrial machines such as machine tools, automotive manufacturing equipment, and semiconductor manufacturing equipment. In addition to offering made-to-order ball screws to meet various customer demands, NSK was among the first to introduce standard stock ball screws to the market, providing shorter lead times.
NSK now adds ball screws that accord with DIN* standards widely used throughout Europe in a new lineup of standard stock ball screws.

Product Features
1. Nut dimensions that accord with DIN standards
The nut dimensions of this new series accord with DIN standards (DIN69051-5), and they are designed for compactness and dimensional compatibility. With this new addition to the current lineup, NSK offers even more options for standard stock ball screws to better meet customer needs.
2. Short lead time
By maintaining the stock of ball screws with blank shaft end in Europe, NSK is able to finish the shaft end locally to meet customer needs. NSK also offers standard stock of ball screws support bearings and NSK Linear Guides™, providing for shorter lead times.
3. Optional parts for other functions
NSK provides the high performance X1 seal, which is popular for machine tools, and the NSK K1™ lubrication unit as optional parts. In this way, NSK is able to provide additional functionality to the ball screws in order to meet the needs of customer applications.

4. Wide variety of models
NSK offers 11 models and 36 types of ball screws with shaft diameters ranging from 20 to 50 mm, leads ranging from 5 to 20 mm and total length ranging from 700 to 3,400 mm.
