ZYS Successfully Developed a Non Destructive Testing Instrument for Aeroengine Bearings
Recently, two non-destructive testing instruments for aviation engine bearings developed by ZYS Instrument Development Department have been successfully installed and debugged at the user's site. After conducting multi wheel bearing testing and comparison tests with imported instruments from the user, the technical indicators, functions, testing efficiency, and maintenance convenience all meet the user's requirements, achieving the localization replacement of the imported testing instrument.
The inspection and maintenance of bearings in aircraft engines is a necessary step to support the safe and reliable operation of aircraft. The measuring instrument currently used by the user is imported equipment from the 1980s and cannot be maintained or updated, facing the dilemma of being unable to use due to serious malfunctions at any time.
After receiving the project task, ZYS formed a project team to tackle the challenges. Faced with difficulties such as limited reference materials, the team gradually understood the working principle of the instrument through on-site inspections of user instruments, repeated communication with users, and consultation with retired experts. This instrument provides a bearing electrical signal detection method that measures the changes in oil film resistance between the inner and outer rings of the bearing during rotation in real time. Through high-speed signal processing circuits, computer high-speed data collection, comparison, calculation, and display, quantitative measurement values are provided, providing an effective and reliable means for users to effectively detect the defects of non detachable bearings.
In the end, the ZYS developed a detailed design plan for the instrument and solved various problems that occurred during the experiment, successfully completing the development task.
