China Auto parts manufacturers accelerate expansion into embodied intelligence
Recently, a number of companies traditionally focused on auto parts manufacturing have turned their attention to the emerging field of embodied intelligent robots. Among them, Zhejiang Wuzhou Xinchun Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Wuzhou Xinchun") plans to raise no more than 1 billion yuan through a private share placement, with a focus on R&D and industrialization of core robot-related components.
According to the announcement, the funds raised will primarily be used to develop high-precision lead screws and specialized bearing products for humanoid robots and smart vehicles. The company stated that these components have high technical barriers, rapidly growing market demand, and strong value-added potential. Leveraging its existing expertise in precision bearing manufacturing, the company expects to quickly establish production capabilities to meet downstream customers' demand for high-performance components.
Wuzhou Xinchun, founded in 2016 and listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, specializes in the R&D, manufacturing, and sales of high-end precision components. Its stock price previously surged in a short period due to its involvement in the robotics concept sector.
Meanwhile, another bearing manufacturer, Rayhoo, is also advancing its presence in robotics. The company announced the acquisition of a 20% stake in Northern Machinery through a 40-million-yuan transfer of industrial fund shares, aiming to strengthen its technological capabilities in key areas such as robotic joint modules. This is not Rayhoo’s first move into the field—in March, it established a wholly-owned subsidiary, Rayming Robotics, and completed the acquisition of a controlling stake in Tenzan Precision to further enhance its expertise in precision transmission components.
Beyond these two companies, other auto parts suppliers such as Fulin Precision, Joyson Electronics, and Tuopu Group have also entered the humanoid robot market. For instance:
Fulin Precision is building an R&D base for robotic electric drive systems.
Joyson Electronics has set up a dedicated robotics subsidiary and partnered with industry players to explore technological breakthroughs.
Industry analysts note that as the traditional automotive market nears saturation, parts suppliers are under increasing pressure to find new growth opportunities. Given the significant overlap in hardware structures and technical pathways—particularly in motors, sensors, and actuators—between automotive and humanoid robotics, these firms possess strong foundational and synergistic advantages for transitioning into the field.
Moreover, automotive factories themselves serve as key deployment scenarios for robots. The industry’s accumulated expertise in large-scale manufacturing, cost control, and talent development provides robust support for the commercialization of humanoid robots. This explains why a growing number of auto parts companies are pivoting to robotics as a strategic future direction.
