First-of-its-Kind Actuator for Nuclear Valve Shipped by Dalian Dagao

On January 15, 2026, the first main steam isolation valve gas-liquid linkage actuator, jointly developed by CGN Engineering and Dalian Dagao Valve Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Dalian Dagao"), was successfully put into application and shipped to the Lufeng Nuclear Power Project site after passing the joint factory acceptance test.

The main steam isolation valve's gas-liquid linkage actuator is a key component of the core equipment of the main steam system (VVP) in a nuclear power plant. To further enhance the self-sufficiency of nuclear power equipment and master key core technologies, CGN Engineering and Dalian Dagao formed a joint team in 2019 to conduct a special research project.

After years of technical breakthroughs, the R&D team completed the entire process of product design, process manufacturing, and qualification testing. The final evaluation results showed that all indicators of the independently developed actuator met the technical requirements for development and qualification. This breakthrough not only fills a domestic technological gap and achieves independent technological control, but also marks a significant improvement in the integrity of my country's nuclear power equipment industry chain.

Subsequently, this domestically produced actuator will be applied in Unit 5 of the Lufeng Nuclear Power Plant. This achievement will significantly enhance the market competitiveness of domestically produced nuclear power equipment, accelerate the independent research and development of nuclear power equipment, and has important strategic significance for ensuring the safe and stable operation of nuclear power plants.
