China Baowu Steel: Focusing on Promoting the Construction of a Bearing Steel Demonstration Production Line!

Recently, the annual work meeting of the Baowu Long Products Technology Management Committee was held. Hou Angui, General Manager, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and Director of the Long Products Committee of Baowu, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

Hou Angui fully affirmed the significant progress made in promoting the strategy of high-quality and special long products. He pointed out that the Group is firmly committed to making high-quality and special long products its third major strategic product, in order to further enhance its core functions and improve its core competitiveness.

Hou Angui demanded that integrated operation be promoted, deeply integrating the Long Products Committee's work with the development of the high-quality and special long products strategic product; and that a demonstration and leading benchmark be created, with a focus on promoting the construction of a bearing steel demonstration production line.

Wuhan Iron and Steel (Group) Corporation is the first extra-large integrated iron and steel enterprise built after the founding of New China. Construction began in 1955, and it was completed and put into operation on September 13, 1958. In its more than 60 years of development, it has made significant contributions to my country's iron and steel industry and the development of the national economy. In 2016, under the major strategic deployment of the CPC Central Committee to promote supply-side structural reform and deepen the reform of state-owned assets and enterprises, Baosteel and Wuhan Iron and Steel (Group) Corporation merged and reorganized to form China Baowu Steel Group. The former Wuhan Iron and Steel (Group) Corporation became a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Baowu Steel Group and, after undergoing corporate restructuring, was renamed Wuhan Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Wuhan Iron and Steel Group"). The former listed company of Wuhan Iron and Steel (Group) Corporation, Wuhan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd., became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Baosteel Co., Ltd. through a share swap merger and was renamed Wuhan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Wuhan Iron and Steel Limited"), serving as one of China Baowu Steel Group's steel bases.
