¥670M Planetary Gearbox Project Set to Deliver 1.5 Million Units Annually in China
On March 12, it was announced that a project to establish an annual production capacity of 1.5 million precision planetary gearboxes and precision transmission system modules is being proposed for construction. The project entails a total investment of 670 million RMB and a construction period of 12 months, and is being undertaken by Newstart Planetary Transmission System Technology (Zibo) Co., Ltd. The facility will be situated within the Zibo High-tech Zone, located north of Dingzhuang Road, east of Zunxian Road, and west of Huangshan Road.
The project is planned to cover a total land area of 64,666.67 square meters. It involves the construction of a new "Super Intelligent Manufacturing" facility spanning 24,296.6 square meters, a supporting services center of 2,389.94 square meters, and an R&D workshop of 4,806.35 square meters.
Upon completion, the project is expected to achieve an annual production output of 1.5 million precision planetary gearboxes and precision transmission system modules.
In 2024, Newstart successfully closed an A+ round of financing totaling several hundred million RMB. The round was co-led by Hongtai Capital, with participation from investors including SDIC Chuanghe, Shandong New Kinetic Energy Fund, Zibo High-tech Industry Investment, SPIC, Orient Securities Capital, Lanpu Ventures, Nuohua Capital, and Shandong Hi-Speed Group.
