Attendees Applaud BSA Fall Meeting

Attendees at the Bearing Specialists Association (BSA) 2009 Fall Meeting on September 21 – 22 at the Hilton Suites Chicago/Magnificent Mile, Chicago, Illinois, gave an enthusiastic thumbs-up to the event which is designed to offer the association’s committees the opportunity to pursue their agendas. Respondents to a post-meeting survey were unanimous in their endorsement of the event as meeting and/or exceeding their expectations.
The 2009 Fall Meeting agenda also included a timely, well-received presentation on the use of LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and other social networking media as a means for communicating with their customers and controlling their corporate message. Jeff Risley, VP/Public Relations & Social Media Analyst of the Barkley advertising agency, walked attendees through the basics of how these services work in and for the corporate world, including case studies from his own experience on the use of social media to monitor social networking conversations, turn negative conversations into positive ones, and develop a social networking presence.
Throughout the day, meeting attendees also took part in a full roster of BSA committee meetings, advancing the work of the association. BSA encourages members and participating manufacturers who are not currently committee members to attend the Fall Meeting and “try out” committees that interest them, as well as the BSA networking opportunity. More than one survey respondent indicated his experience was very positive and he would continue to participate at this level.
The next meetings of BSA committees will be at the 2010 Winter Meeting, January 17-19 in Tampa, Florida. They will also meet at the association’s 2010 Annual Convention, May 1-4 at the Naples Grande Resort & Club in Naples, Florida.
